Successful GATE, PEAC, and NAPLAN Preparatory Classes Conducted by Sevanam Australia
February 26, 2022 – Perth, Western Australia
Sevanam Australia successfully conducted its first GATE, PEAC, and NAPLAN preparatory classes for children of community members on February 26, 2022, prior to the monthly prayer meeting. The initiative was met with great enthusiasm as a large number of children attended, making the session both engaging and productive.
An Educational Initiative for the Community
Understanding the importance of academic excellence, Sevanam Australia introduced this program to support students preparing for GATE (Gifted and Talented Exam), PEAC (Primary Extension and Challenge), and NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy). The session was designed to provide guidance, practice materials, and confidence-building strategies for students appearing for these assessments.
The preparatory session, held at 5 PM, provided a structured approach to test preparation, with interactive learning, problem-solving exercises, and expert guidance. The children actively participated, making the session both educational and enjoyable.
Observing COVID-19 Protocols
Given the COVID-19 restrictions in Western Australia at the time, Sevanam Australia ensured that the event adhered to all necessary public health measures:
- Mandatory mask-wearing for all participants indoors.
- Proof of vaccination checks where required.
- Contact registration for attendees.
- Hand sanitization stations and social distancing guidelines were maintained to ensure safety.
By following these protocols, the event was conducted in a safe and controlled manner, ensuring the well-being of all attendees.
A Successful Start to an Ongoing Initiative
Following the preparatory session, the monthly prayer meeting was conducted at 6 PM, bringing the community together in a spiritually uplifting gathering. Attendees also enjoyed light refreshments at 6:30 PM, fostering a sense of community bonding.
Sevanam Australia expresses gratitude to all the parents and volunteers who contributed to the smooth execution of this event. With the overwhelming response, the organization plans to continue these preparatory classes as a regular monthly initiative, helping more students gain confidence in their exams.
Sevanam Australia remains committed to promoting education, community service, and spiritual growth, following the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru.
